With Academy Award\u00ae qualifying status, the Nashville Film Festival celebrates innovation, music and the many voices of the human spirit through the art of film. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a background in or passion for film, we encourage you to be a part of our Pre-Sceening and\/or Reader Committees for the <strong>55th Nashville Film Festival, September 19 &#8211; 25, 2024. <\/strong>See more details and applications below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pre-Screening <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Want to brush up on your film critique skills and watch a diverse range of independent film? The ideal pre-screening volunteer has experience writing, watching and critiquing film, or alternately has other film industry experience such as writer, editor, programmer, Festival organizer, producer, etc. We also encourage film students and those who might not have current or extensive industry experience, but a passion for film to apply! The opportunity to watch multiple films at all levels from novice to pro is a great way to improve your skills no matter what hat you are wearing in the industry. It also provides a lot of insight into what\u2019s out there in the original content arena. Please note, you do not need to be a Nashville or TN resident in order to be a pre-screener. The ideal reader volunteer has experience writing screenplays, or alternately has other production experience such as actor, director, producer. The opportunity to read multiple screenplays at all levels from novice to pro is a great way to improve your story skills no matter what hat you are wearing on the set. It also provides a lot of insight into what\u2019s out there in the original content arena. Competition reading is a great introduction to reading for production companies or other competitions. We provide feedback to help build reader skills. We also help our readers find placement for paid positions in the industry.
